MargaretGRAINGEROur wonderful, glamorous Nan, AKA 'Queen Margaret' of Oakdale, Penydarren Park, died peacefully on Saturday 30th September after a very short illness, listening to Frank Sinatra, wearing her signature pearl headband and surrounded by her family.
Nan was extremely well cared for by the outstanding Ty Cwm Residential Carers, the amazing Morlais Practice District Nurses, her Grandchildren, Michelle, Nikki, Kate & Amy, her 'adopted' family Becky, Helen & Sally and her Great-Grandchildren. She has truly been surrounded by a lot of love.
Nan was a truly outstanding character! Always impeccably groomed & fashionable, the life and soul of the party, loved sequins and sparkles, holidays and going out, an event organiser extraordinaire, house proud, voice of an angel, comedienne, great cook, feisty, strong willed but warm hearted and always had a duster in her hand! We've all been lucky to have been along for the ride. And it certainly wasn't a boring one!
As a family friend stated, 'Margaret was a real character, a proper lady, so kind and would go out of her way to do anything for anybody. She was a 'rare breed' and they certainly don't make them like her anymore! She made everyone laugh and the world will be a lot duller without her in it.'
Funeral will take place on Friday 13th, October, 12.45pm at Llwydcoed Crematorium, followed by the wake at the West End Bowls Club. All welcome, but would appreciate a text or call to Michelle to help with catering numbers 07951 836911.
