GerardFINCHformerly of Stanley Court, Accrington passed away
peacefully at Belvedere Care Home on December
10, aged 78 years.
Dearly loved husband of late wife Pat Finch,
much loved father of Kevin and Andrew and
treasured grandad to Ebony, beloved brother of
Stella and father-in-law to Sharron. Also an uncle and good friend to many.
Born in Oldham, Gerry moved to Accrington at an
early age and attended Sacred Heart Primary School and then on to secondary education at Holy Family.
He started his working life at Lang Bridges Engineering. After being made redundant, he joined
Accrington Fire Brigade at 21 and continued as a
proud firefighter until retirement as a member of
Green Watch.
Gerry was a member of Sydney Street WMC and
other social clubs in Accrington and was well
known for enjoying a pint or two with friends and
family.
He also enjoyed playing snooker and dominoes for
various local teams.
Gerry was an avid supporter of Accrington Stanley and was a regular attender at matches up to his illness.
Gerry will be very much missed by all his family
and friends.

Gerry’s funeral service will take place at Accrington Crematorium on Monday, December 23
at 1pm.
