JohnFARRELLJohn Bernard Farrell (Fagga ) was born in Seacombe Wallasey on the 1st October 1947. He passed on the 4th November 2022, aged 75. He was a much loved son to his parents and a friend to many. That tells only part of the story. In truth Fagga was a legend. A giant of a man. A trade unionist and socialist. A man who would never turn his back on those in need. Fearless in challenging injustice. No fight too much. Fagga was a leader, a convenor at Vauxhall, Ellesmere Port, fully unionising his work colleagues; a trade union official who fought the most ruthless of employers, proud to have unionised cleaners to stand up to the worst of working practices. And then in later years a one man citizens advice service for his friends in Wallasey and Merseyside. John never lost his roots. Knew always that his responsibility was to stand for those who needed support. He never waivered from his socialist believes. He leaves behind friends of all ages and generations who will never stop telling stories of his legend and will never forget the lessons he taught. We are all better for having known Fagga, for having been moulded by his principles, for having the fortune of being loved by him and for having experienced his ruthless wit. We will all miss him greatly. Dearest friend to Kevin and Caroline, Howard and Emma, Eddie and Camille, Charlie, Trace and Alan, Paddy and Pauline, Frank, Helen and Philly, Maureen, John Tegue, Carol and Tony, Irish John, John Leeming, Brandon, Cody, Nicole, Leanne, Letitia, Marc, Rachelle, Liam, Sharna, Georgi, Thomas, Ciara and Daniel. Rest in peace great man. Funeral service to take place at St Josephs Church, Wallasey, on Friday 25th November at 10:30am. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to the British Heart Foundation
