GuntherELLINGIt is with great sadness that the family of Gunther Wilhelm "Bill" Elling announce his passing on November 6th, 2024. Gunther passed away in a care home near his hometown in Lower Saxony in Germany, close to his son and extended family. He spent many years living and working in Scunthorpe at the steel works and later at Nypro, and was well known for his creative building projects, landscaping hobbies and his love of animals. He is survived by his three children in Germany: Eilert, Rotraut, and Roswitha, and in Britain, his daughter Kaye. Gunther is reunited with Mary, his wife of 50 years. A funeral service will be held in his home town in Germany in the coming days. Please make any charitable donations in his name to The Dogs Trust.
