CaroleDREW'A Blessed Life'

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a very special lady, the highly revered Mrs Carole Drew (nee Gray), aged 69 years, of Blythe Bridge, Stoke on Trent. Whilst we mourn our loss, we take comfort in celebrating a truly beautiful life filled with love, vitality, purpose and music. In her own words, Carole led 'a blessed life'; she was a unique, beautiful soul who touched so many with genuine humility and kindness. As a dearly loved daughter, sister, wife, mother, nanny, auntie, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, friend, colleague, teacher and musician, Carole's impact on this world was vast; she was simply one of a kind!

Surrounded by her beloved husband, Norman; treasured sons, Stephen and David; and much-loved sister, Gillian, Carole passed away peacefully and with dignity, in a place where she often said that she felt safe - Ward 201 in the Oncology Department at the Royal Stoke University Hospital.

Carole's Celebration of Life will take place at Carmountside Cemetery & Crematorium on Monday 24th March 2025 at 11:30 am. Following this service, Norman, Stephen, David and family invite friends and family to join them at Baddeley Green Working Men's Club. In Norman's words, 'That's where we met - that's where we say goodbye'.

In celebration of Carole's vibrant and fulfilling life, attendees are invited to wear whatever makes them feel comfortable. While traditional attire is welcome, bright colours and joyful clothing are encouraged to reflect the spirit and warmth that Carole shared with us all.

Family flowers only, please - donations are preferred to the Douglas Macmillan Hospice, and will be split between Children's and Adult Services.

For those unable to attend in person, the funeral service will be screencast, allowing loved ones to join us virtually in celebrating Carole's life. The link to the service will be https://watch2.obitus.com, the log in details are as follows: username popi3490 and password 576624.

I remember Carole from school.
I used to come and watch the orchestra at lunchtime. Mrs legge at the helm and Carole leading.
She was special unassuming and someone you would have loved for a friend.

Carole was the most wonderful woman, with a wicked sense of humour and a huge heart. She gave the best hugs and was such a support to me when I came back to Staffordshire. We are wishing you the most love and best wishes and this difficult time xxx

A friend from the age of 11, I have so many happy memories of Carole! From the fun we had as youngsters, the music that formed such a major part of our growing up, her sense of fun, her lovely warm smile and then later, the pride she had in her gorgeous family. A very special person, who leaves a footprint on my heart, and who I will always treasure having known. Sleep well precious friend xx
