ChristopherDEANChristopher Dean, beloved husband, son, and brother, passed away on Sunday, 19th January 2025, at Furness General Hospital, Barrow-in-Furness, following an incredibly brave battle with cancer.
He was surrounded by love and received outstanding care in his last few days.
Chris' battle with cancer was tough and wildly unfair, but he faced it with strength, grace, and humor. A true warrior in every sense of the word, he was loved by the many professionals who supported him over the last 16 months, and his family is beyond grateful for their care.
Chris was one of a kind-funny, interesting and intelligent. He spent over 20 years working in France, a country he adored after many childhood holidays there. It was also where he met his wife, making it an even more special part of his life. A lifelong Blackburn Rovers supporter and former season ticket holder, his passion for football ran deep.
Above all, Chris was thoughtful, considerate, and endlessly kind. He leaves a huge hole in so many lives, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.
He was peaceful in the end and left with no doubt about how loved he was. His family will continue to love him and make him proud as they try to navigate life without his shining light.
The funeral service for our beloved Chris will take place on:
Thursday, 20th February 2025
12.15pm - Waddington Methodist Church, The Square, Waddington, Clitheroe, BB7 3HZ
2.15pm - Pleasington Crematorium, Tower Rd, Blackburn, BB2 5LE
Afterwards (from 2.45pm) - Red Rose Suite, Blackburn End (Car Park H), Ewood Park (Blackburn Rovers Football Club)
This will be a time to reflect on his life, share memories, and say our final goodbyes. We invite all who knew Chris to join us in this heartfelt gathering.
In place of funeral flowers, we would appreciate donations to Macmillan Cancer Support, a cause Chris held close to his heart.
