Reverend KennethDAVYMethodist Minister and Probation Officer

Peacefully on 28th September 2024, in the compassionate care of Ladysmith Care Home, after a long battle with Alzheimer's, with his family by his side, Ken aged 91 years.

Dearly loved husband of Barbara for over 66 years, much cherished dad of Susan, Judy and Paul, loving father-in-law of John, Kevin and Andrea, honorary dad of Lynn Cambell and Nick Heywood, treasured grandad of Matthew, Christopher & Emma, Michael & Meg, Stephen, Joseph, Saskia and Abi & Hep, a devoted great-grandad of Charlie, Evie, Rosa and Luke, special brother of Pete, Geoff and Annette, dear brother-in-law of Joan, Jane and John, a loving uncle and great uncle and friend to many.

Family was everything to Ken, and he lived his life through his faith and with immense kindness, generosity, humour, wisdom and strength, Ken will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

His mind and body are free at last from their earthly constraints, and he rests in the loving embrace of our Lord.

A service to celebrate Ken's life will be held in St. Christopher's Methodist Church, Welholme Road, Grimsby on Wednesday 16th October 2024 at 1.00pm followed by committal in Grimsby Crematorium at 2:15pm.

Ken hated a fuss, so please no mourning clothes, be smart but comfortable.

Family flowers only please, but donations in Ken's memory to benefit 'St. Christopher's Church' and/or 'Water Aid' may be given at the service or sent to: -

I attended the youth club at Welholme Road Methodist Church in the 1970s. We all loved going to “club” on Friday evenings - Mr Davy always welcomed us all in with great enthusiasm. He modelled for us teens such a positive adult/young person relationship, and was always so interested in us. What a wonderful example he set for us teens to follow - I count myself fortunate to have known him.
