What a fantastic guy, one of life’s true gentlemen, caring, loving and a proper people person. Taken far too early.

A never-to-be Forgotten Son. A Lord of the Backstage. A Man of a Thousand laughs. An Accidental friend. Brave. Enlightened, and often Incommunicado! We enjoyed Holidays in Zelande, Pontins, Butlins and Munich. You were my Marillion mate, and I can't believe you're Somewhere Else. May The Sky Above The Rain be a better place for your presence, as our Hearts of Lothian go out to David and Mary. x

My heart goes out to Mary, David and all the family at this sad time. We met Bob (as we called him) through the band, Marillion and enjoyed many a happy time at gigs abroad and at home. The last time I saw him was in October at a Crisis gig in Manchester, which my husband Howard and our mutual friend Guy are members. We reminisced about the past and danced the night away; a wonderful memory that I will treasure. He was a wonderful man and will be sadly missed. Xx

Taken much too soon. I can’t actually put into words how this loss has affected me. Throughout my formative years Rob was always there…either playing in the same team or down the pub…and he was always the same - funny, intelligent (despite his footy team support) and loyal. I always thought there was more time…but there never is. He leaves a real vacuum and one that will take some time to come to terms with. Rest in peace mate.

Rob was someone I knew for only a few years, but he is someone who I wished I had known longer. He was a true gentleman, very intelligent and with the utmost integrity. I have been honoured to have known you and you enriched my life.
There are not many you will meet in life that leave a positive mark on you, Rob was one of them. My thoughts and condolences are with Mary and his family.
