We are so very grateful to have known Doug and deeply sad at his passing. But there are so many good memories left behind (good music, wonderful stories, fine craftsmanship, an engineer's inventive and problem-solving mind.) So many friends will miss Doug.

Thinking of Wilma at this sad time.

Doug and Wilma were so kind in helping us bring my mom and dad on a last trip to Scotland to visit friends and family. It was such an important trip for them, and Doug and Wilma went far beyond expectations in making it forever memorable. And on another visit, my wife and I travelled up to Scotland, and Doug and Wilma were such wonderful hosts and tour guides. We saw so much that we would not have seen otherwise. And Doug’s stories of family history helped fill a void that had been a source of mystery - how the Scottish - Canadian ties came into being. I am so sorry to hear of his passing, and so very grateful to have had the chance to meet and listen to him.

Paul and I are very sad to loose our good friend. A great story teller, a poet,a musician, an inventor and a luthier, but most of all a beautiful human being. Sadly missed.

I am sorry to learn of Doug's death. Generous to the end, I received some spare parts from him only a few weeks ago. My condolences to his family. He will be missed by friends and family.

Was so sorry when I heard the news. Doug was a dear friend and I loved the times we spent together playing our Autoharps.
Hugs to Wilma.
