Ann taught me Domestic Science at Dalston County School. She became a friend, came to our wedding and advised me whrn we had our first child. David helped me with my maths. I have never forgotten Ann and owe her much. I am 81 now and have just celebrated our diamond wedding. A really lovely and special lady. I met Mrs Maltman too. Linda Bell, nee Sumsion.

Dear Ann, thank you for all that you did for me when I was 19 & at college, you took me under your wing and kicked me into shape with your view on life and humbled me with your blunt words. I’m 31 now and i would not be who I am today if I didn’t meet you. I’m so glad we got to keep in touch over the years. I hope you rest in peace. Love always, your northern friend.
