The obituary notice of Michael, Arthur CORTHORN

I played jazz with mike for many years on Bass. We would play for beer in pubs, and eventually we got to be the resident jazz duo in the Orangery, at the White Hart Hotel. We played cocktail bar jazz, and i was suprised that many people actually listened and to us and followed us. We would get Mike, me, and a full size Double Bass in his car, a Capri. He had a wonderful eccentric style of playing and we understood each others style. He would sometimes stop in the middle of a number and say "Do a solo", and then go stand at the bar for more drinks. If the bar was busy, the solos were sometimes very long. RIP Mike, ill never forget the great times we had together.
