StellaCOOMBESOf Culmstock, beloved wife of the late Frederick Coombes, and mother to Hazel and Pam, passed away peacefully at Oaktree Court Nursing Home on Wednesday 13th January 2021 aged 98 years. Due to the Covid 19 situation a private service will take place at All Saints Church, Culmstock on Wednesday 27th January. Family flowers only, but donations in memory of Stella, if desired, for Blackdown Support Group can be sent to:- Pring & Son, 50 Fore Street, Cullompton, EX15 1LB.

Dear Stella, you were a very special family friend from our early childhoods, kind and generous, uncomplaining. You would lend a hand with anything: clean out a stable, brave the vicious cockerel to feed the hens. You had an indomitable community spirit. You were out keeping the village tidy by picking up litter in your 90s. You knew everything worth knowing about everybody and if you didn’t know you would soon find out. You were a loyal friend to us through thick and thin. We have loved you dearly and will treasure many happy memories of you always, the Griffin girls
