DesmondCONNOLLYDied peacefully on Wednesday, November 22, aged 92 years. A Requiem Mass will be held at St James The Less RC Church, Rawtenstall on Tuesday, December 5 at 12.15pm followed by cremation at Accrington Crematorium at 1.40pm, conducted by Father Simon Stamp. Born in Stacksteads he was one of eight children. A well known figure in the building trade, Desmond was the managing director of Connolly Brothers Builders Ltd. He became a member of the local amateur operatic society and played the leading male roles in numerous productions. Husband to the late Pauline, who died December 2022, he leaves his daughters Sharon, Bernadette and Catherine, son Mark, 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. There will be a celebration of his life at Colne Cricket Club at 3pm. Family flowers only are requested, with donations in lieu to Pendleside Hospice. Anthony Johnson Funeral Services Ltd, Bacup
