The obituary notice of Norman COLEGATE

It was so nice to have returned to me all the Valentine's cards grandad sent me over the years. He literally never missed a year until dementia took over. Cards signed off mysteriously with a "Guess who" or simple "?". I knew it was from grandad but I felt special and cared about. Brought me up, showing me how I should be treated. It's the little things in life. Thoughts, care, understanding, encouragement and belief in me was shown and felt everyday. I am lucky to have had such a constant positive guardian, along with my Nain of course.

I have mentioned before, grandad wasn't the type to buy flowers, he grew them. Thought, care and hardwork put in all year around. He was the perfect gent. I still think and admire my grandparents relationship.

Alex would like and try to claim Grandads birthday gifts. He would be the one getting stuck into the birthday cake whilst we would be singing happy birthday. Alex would bring grandad so much joy and happiness and get away with anything.

Grandad and you will be pottering about wherever you are I'm sure. I imagine you are both warm and cosy even in this snowy cold weather. No more feeling drafts and are healthy and comfortable in the spirit world x
