Rosa DorothyCLEMENTSof Oswaldtwistle, passed away suddenly but peacefully in hospital, surrounded by her loving family, aged 86 years, on Monday, October 14. Beloved wife of the late Norman, much loved mum of Jeannette and Colin, dear mother-in-law of Trevor, devoted nan of Louise and Laura, loving great nan of Lucy, William, and Emma. Dorothy was born in Kirkintilloch, Scotland in 1938, moving shortly after to Saltash in Cornwall. Dorothy met Norman and following their wedding they moved north to Clayton-leMoors, where Dorothy worked at Clayton Laundry alongside Norman for a number of years, before becoming the tenants of the Heys Inn Oswaldtwistle, for over eight years. They then moved to Springhill, Accrington and Dorothy became a traffic warden. She patrolled the streets for 20 years until her retirement. Rosa and Norman then moved to Oswaldtwistle. Dorothy loved reading, knitting and crosswords, but her main hobby was Bingo. She also liked to play the slot machines. Dorothy also played bingo with her sister Jean on her visits to Plymouth. Dorothy and Norman loved their holidays together visiting family - sister Jean in Plymouth, brother Robert in Cornwall and Jean and Bob in Canada with her sister-in-law Phyllis. Dorothy adored her great grandchildren and loved keeping up to date with them. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her. Funeral Service, Dorothy’s funeral service will be held on Friday, November 8 at 3pm at Accrington Crematorium. Family flowers only please.
