My late grandad Stan Thorogood worked as dental mechanic for the elder Mr Chisholm for many years. We continued to go to Eric who looked after my family’s teeth for such a long time, and even signed the photo for my first passport. God bless you Eric, a life well lived.

Mr. Chisholm was my first dentist. We lived in the prefabs off Sheepfoot Lane. I remember going to his surgery on Victoria Avenue when I was about five years old, up some stairs. As the mask went over my face, I darted out of the chair and down those stairs as quick as I could, but they caught me and he was laughing. That would have been about 1960. All the best to his loved ones, and it's good to know he lived a long and happy life.
