Saddened to hear of the loss of Bob. A very valued friend on the Radio and a source of strength and encouragement with our efforts on air. A nicer man you could not meet, with an instant ability to put people at ease, great help to others with grasping technology. We'd met once on the narrowboats at Foxton and planned to do so the following year but events overtook things. There is never enough time, but we'll treasure all the times we met and spoke. Lord look after Bob, as you have a good'un there. Sympathies to Sue and Family.

Love from Barbara M6NZH and Adam G0ORY. Rest easy mate.

Met Bob (he was never a Robert) 26 summers ago at Cranfield airport; he had started building his homebuilt aircraft and I was about to start. We raced each other over 9 enjoyable years to see them flying, and in the process became great friends. I shall never forget his laconic humour and insistence on doing a 'proper job' whenever he and Sue ventured up-country for canal-boating. He will be missed more than words can say.
So long, Captain!
