My tribute is on behalf of the Calder clan, the late John (brother-in-law), sister-in-law Audrey, Nieces, Jacky & Christine and families. A story about my lovely Aunt. I'm going back to 1967/8 when David was just a toddler and like many of us Northerners, Derek & Lesley were moving South for work. Lesley stayed with us with baby David whilst they were house hunting in Hampshire. I was so sad when they eventually moved into their own home. Lesley was just the coolest Aunt and bought me my first nail manicure set and bottle of perfume when I was 9 years of age. I remember her Mazda car which she drove barefooted in the summer and one day eating an icecream! This caught the eye of the local policemen who chastised her for not having shoes on and not driving with two hands on the wheel. Lesley's charm and winning smile meant we were soon on our way - still finishing said ice cream and still with no shoes! Lesley was like the sunshine on a rainy day, warm and fun loving. May your sun continue to shine brightly in all our lives - all the better for knowing you.

You were an amazing lady Lesley. Thank you for supporting myself and Damien when we were younger and living in Newcastle with Mam, David and James. We were always welcome at your home and took care of us to help support Mam and David. I'll always remember the Christmases and Birthdays we shared at yours, you always made such delicious meals and threw fabulous parties. You will be sadly missed. All our love to the family, from Sian xxxx
