Eva RosemaryBROWNAuntie Eva (Eva Brown) sadly passed away on 20th January 2025. Everyone that knew her is invited to join her family in celebrating her amazing 89 years of travel, love, friendship, and laughter on Saturday, 15th March 2025.

Originally from Bromley in Kent/Greater London Eva moved to Wollaton in Nottingham in the 1970s. She was known by many people as "Auntie Eva", for her dedication to local families, having fostered and childminded over 100 children for Nottingham City Council. She continued to be a registered Childminder into her mid-eighties, and was also a children's chaperone for Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall Nottingham, Nottingham Playhouse and Central Television.

A life-long Salvationist, Eva ran a Sunday School from the front room of her house for many years and was heavily involved in running the Sunday Schools at Nottingham Aspley and Nottingham William Booth Memorial Halls Salvation Army corps. She was also the Brown Owl at the Aspley Salvation Army for some time.

In addition to her work with children Eva was also a trained seamstress, having trained at the Salvation Army's Trade Headquarters, before working for Jaeger on Regent Street in London, and later in Nottingham. She continued dressmaking and clothes alterations into her late eighties.

As a legacy to Eva, the Auntie Eva's Children's Trust is being set up to provide small grants to children in the Nottingham City area that need additional support. The family therefore requests no flowers please. Donations if desired can be made to Auntie Eva's Children's Trust. Please see the Auntie Eva's Children's Trust website for more details.

Auntie Eva, we will always cherish your love and friendship and all the wonderful memories we have of you especially of us cycling all around Millport, Isle of Cumbrae & rewarding ourselves with a huge ice cream on the beach afterwards! You made so many friends here in Scotland and you will be missed by us all xxx
