PeterBROWNIn loving memory of Alan Peter Brown, known to his family and friends as Peter, who passed away peacefully at Saint Catherine‘s hospice on the 7th of August 2023.
Born in Oxford on 17th of May 1943, he moved to London a few years later. Peter attended the Grocers Grammar school in Hackney before moving on to Northern Poly.
His working life began in Geneva, Switzerland, where he learned computer programming. On his return to England, he began working for Moulinex where he progressed through the company into management.
His interest in cars saw him own E-type jaguars and a rare Italian ISO Griffo sports car. Peters passion was horology, he learned to repair clocks and watches and had a very large collection of both.
Peter and his wife, Diana lived very happily together in Crawley, Carshalton and Burstow until Diana‘s death in 2010. Together they loved to collect antiques and spent much time trawling local antiques fairs.
A keen interest in politics saw Peter elected as chairman of Tandridge Council. He worked tirelessly to help local people and campaigned to MPs and authorities to try and solve local issues which were of concern to those in his community.
Peter and Diana chose not to have children but are sadly missed by his sister, brother-in-law, niece, nephew and great nephew
