Hilda,

Seems as though only yesterday
That we were here in this space
To say goodbye to grandad
As he moved on to a better place

Now we're all here for you today
To say our last goodbyes
And to share the happy memories
Whilst tears fill our eyes

I've known you all my life,
It seems strange now that you're gone
I've been blessed with angels by my side
But you'll always be number one

Whenever life's been tough
You've been there to help me through
Not a word of judgement
Just "that's what nanas do"

You'd tell me off for swearing
In your own special way
Then immediately swear right back at me
"Don't do as I do, do as I say"

And when olive came along
She blessed us all with love
Another angel to join the rest
Sent from up above

You've been the most amazing granny
Since the day that she was born
But we will do our best to help her through
Now her granny's gone

We talk about how we'd laugh with you
And call eachother names
And how you'd always tell her off
For fiddling at games

We miss you every single night
And every single day
But with the memories that we shared
You're never far away

So there's only one thing left to say
Before we let you rest
As you would say every night to us
