Died suddenly and peacefully at sea on 3rd May aged 86 years.

Dearly beloved husband of Moyra, father of Victoria.

Family burial in Beverley followed by a celebration of Richard's life at Saint Michael and All Angels church, Cherry Burton on 11th June at 12.30 to which all friends are invited.

I had the good fortune of receiving training from Professor Briston back in 1987 under a British Council programme.He had an amiable personality. He was some one you could easily get along with. His humility and cheerful demeanor stood out as his most prominent personality traits. Never got the chance to meet him again. His demise is a great loss for his students, friends and family. May he rest in peace. Amen
