RhodaBRICKNELLof Newchurch Road, Stacksteads, died on Saturday, October 26, at Royal Blackburn Hospital, aged 83. She worked at Bacup Shoe and at The Royal Hotel, Waterfoot for many years and also worked as a market trader. Rhoda was a Superintendent at St John's Ambulance, and a committee member at Bacup Cancer Research. She attended Stacksteads Methodist Church, enjoyed knitting and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wife of the late Frank, and mother of Anthony and David and mother-inlaw to Anne, she leaves eight grandchildren and their partners and 21 great-grandchildren. The funeral took place on Thursday, November 7, at Stacksteads Methodist Church, at 1.30pm, conducted by Revd David Burrow, followed by cremation at Burnley Crematorium at 3pm.
