MargaretBLOOMFIELDPeacefully, after a short illness, Margaret passed away on 20th February 2023 aged 96 years. Margaret will be sadly missed by all at St Lawrence Residential Care Home where Margaret has resided for the last few years. Margaret was a close and loyal friend and colleague to many over the years. A funeral service will be held at Woodlands Crematorium on Thursday 23rd March at 10:40am Co-op Funeralcare 2 Bottesford Road Scunthorpe DN16 3HE Tel. 01724 843150

Miss Bloomfield was headteacher at Astley Grammar later Astley High Dukinfield when I taught there in 1980
She was a good disciplinarian respected by pupils and staff alike. The grammar school ethos remained under her leadership.
When the school merged with two others she was not reappointed . A great shame as that was the start of the demise of what once had been an excellent school.
May she rest in peace
