Thomas George MbeBEECHOf Hanford, Stoke-On-Trent, Passed away On 28th August 2024 in the Royal Stoke University Hospital aged 98 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Irene, a treasured uncle and good friend to many.

Served in the Royal Navy (mine sweepers) in World War 2, Retired Education Welfare Officer and children's champion. School's Governor, General Practice Patient's Group Chairman, Independent Police Custody Visitor, Police Advisory Group member, stalwart of the former Trent Vale Methodist Church (Flash Lane) and latterly founder member of the West End (Stoke) Methodist Church and Food Bank Volunteer, the list goes on.

He never really retired and will be sadly missed by all who Knew him and were touched by his kindness and humanity.

Memorial and a service of Thanksgiving for his Life will be held at West End Methodist Church, London Road, Stoke-On-Trent at 11am on Wednesday 25th September 2024.

A true gentleman and a very good friend, George will be sadly missed by many. I met George when I joined the Independent Custody Visitors panel and when he was retiring from this he mentored myself to take over his role as a coordinator.

George, was a true gentleman. Passionate about education, George Chaired the Stoke-on-Trent Education Appeals Panels for many years with us before retiring from the role. May he rest in peace.
