DavidBEAGHANof Fairfield Street, Accrington, died on Thursday, October 31 at home, aged 88. David served his time as an electrician at Platts in Accrington before moving to English Electric and Rists Wires and Cables. He did National Service in the RAF. Later in life David was a successful publican, becoming landlord of the Printers Arms and Ye Olde Mother Red Cap following on to then being the steward at King Street Working Men's Club. He enjoyed cricket and football and was a lifelong member of Church Cricket Club. Husband of Sheila, he leaves son Gary and daughter-in-law Julie, son Dale and daughter-in-law Pauline, together with grandchildren Christopher, Lauren, Lee, Joe and Sophie and great-grandchildren Indi Rose and Bert. A funeral service took place at 3pm on Wednesday, November 20, at Accrington Crematorium, followed by cremation, before a gathering at Accrington Golf Club. Donations, if desired, requested for Cancer Research. Funeral director: Wolstenholme Funeral Service, Willows Lane, Accrington.
