For Sadie - Our Butterfly
Angel Voices,
a new beginning,
Sunlight shines,
the mist is thinning.
The colours glisten in the morning dew,
Creating rainbows that make me think of you.
Like jewels concealed in the grass,
I know that they will never last.
The rain is falling,
I missed you today.
Little flowers have closed their petals,
The butterflies have gone away.
Some of nature stops under heavy drops of rain,
But some of it begins to live
Ready to bloom again.
Where do butterflies go on these wet days?
Until they sense the suns warming rays
Their short lives are just like yours,
Governed by Natures Laws.
Just like you they brought colour to the world,
The light reflecting as their wings unfurled.
You were unaware of your light, of your beauty.
You believed people loved you through a sense of duty.
You hid your light,
your colourful wings,
Inside your heart,
In spiritual things.
Its so clear now how much you were the same.
But, it doesn’t change or take away our aching pain.
But, at least when we ask
“why? Oh Why?”
We can smile …..,
we know …..
Sadie was a butterfly….
