Gerald WilliamBAILEYGerald William Bailey born 30th March 1937 in Gainsborough has passed away peacefully in Scunthorpe General Hospital on Sunday 6th October surrounded by his family after a prolonged struggle with Pneumonia.
Gerald leaves behind his Daughter Clare, Son Andrew, Sister Shirley, Granddaughter's Bethany and Alyssha and Great Granddaughter's Ella and Freya.
Gerald spent his early life living with his grandparents in Tooley Street, Gainsborough until he met his late wife Doreen, they were married at Gainsborough Trinity Church in 1961 and moved to Scunthorpe where they would permanently settle in 1967. He then became an avid supporter of Scunthorpe United FC, holding a season ticket for 55 years.
His life will be commemorated at the Woodlands Crematorium, Scunthorpe on Tuesday 29th October at 2:40pm. The family welcome donations to The Iron Foundation.
