We are sad to announce the passing of our beloved John; loving husband to Jane, brother to Joan (deceased) & Anne, father to Donna & Gavin, step father to Katherine & James and Pop to Daniel, Bayly, Ellie, Chloe, Celyn, Tilly & Darcie.

John will be hugely missed by his family and friends in Beckenham/Bromley, Greater London and his birth place and home town of Liverpool. He will be remembered by music fans as the singer Johnny Gentle, one of Larry Parnes' stars of the late fifties, even having the Beatles as his support band on their first ever tour!

To John's Family, I had the absolute pleasure of meeting John in Jersey in the mid 80's.We were working alongside each other for a company called C.A Mauger. I was singing my heart out whilst working in a toilet and John walked in introduced himself and me likewise, He told me I had a great voice and that meant the world to me. We were all sitting at our lunch and I was speaking at length with John 1 to 1 I was telling him that I sang in some bars and was entering singing comps. He told me he used to do the same and how he was noticed,Then the beatles story whilst touring Scotland' I honestly took that with a pinch of salt until he said' Come with me young man, There we were standing at the boat of his car his guitar visible as he reached in he pulled this book out and revealed its contents' I was blown away standing standing next to a legend, He got his guitar out and actually started singing "someday my tears will turn to laughter" I still sing that song to this day. I will always be forever grateful for that meeting and thankful for all the advice I got from a genuinely honest gentleman. My Sincere condolences to John Family. John' I still talk about you today my friend fly high with the Angels mate GBNF 💙
