Your love was unconditional, especially your love for Nan. 70 years of marriage and you still would have travelled to the end of the world for her if you could. A year was clearly too long for you both to be apart and now you're back by her side once again.
Not a lot of grandchildren get to spend much time with their grandparents, and I am truly grateful not only for the time I got to spend with my Grandad but for the bond we had and all the great memories that we shared. Dementia is a cruel disease, and although it takes those precious memories away from someone, it does not take away the love that is behind those memories.
I appreciate all that you did Grandad, and you will always be my hero.
