I'm absolutely devastated by this news. I've been trying to contact Russ for a few weeks and started to get concerned. Sadly, my concerns were founded when I did a Google search.

Russ and I were at university together. We lost touch, but he got back in touch through LinkedIn. Ever since then we've been in contact regularly, we saw each other maybe once a year when he stopped by Kenilworth while visiting family near Nottingham.

He became a dear friend again, one of my best, he was such a good and caring person.

I last saw him on the 24th of July, the weather was hot, and my new dog was licking our bare legs in the cafe. I was last in contact with him on his birthday, with our usual pleasant and humorous exchange.

I've no idea why this happened to Russ. He will leave a huge hole in my life, and it seems to everybody who he was in contact with. If everybody was like Russ, the world would be a much better place.

My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.

Didn't really see much of you over the years Russell but you will always be remembered as one of the nicest, kindest real gentleman I've ever met. You will be so sadly missed by everyone who had the pleasure to have known you, but most of all your loving family who you were so very close to. Rest in peace now Russell with your mum and dad.

Russell came into my life when I married into the Talbot family. He was Godfather to our oldest son Ryan. He was always there for us and would bring a birthday card to the recipients house months in advance just to save on postage. He was funny and cared so much for his family. He left us way too soon. You were loved and will never be forgotten.

My dear uncle Russ.
One of the greatest men I've ever had the pleasure of knowing in my life. Sorry I can't be there in person. I will, however be there with you when you come back to Nottingham to be with your mum and dad again. My beautiful nanna and grandad who I miss dearly. Thank you for being the most amazing godfather to my Children and for everything you have done for them. They could not have wished for anything more. You were the back bone of the family, the life and soul of every party with the most incredible sense of humour imaginable. No one saw this coming and it has come to a massive shock to me. Christmas will never be the same again and I still can't believe I'm writing this. I love you uncle Russ. Cruelly taken from this world, way too soon. Absolutely everybody that knew you adored you and as devastated as we all are, your memory will always live on. Sleep tight uncle Russ. I still haven't come to terms with this but I will love you and cherish the amazing memories you've left with us.
Your loving niece, Rach. X
