BrianRILEYBorn January 10, 1952, passed away peacefully on March 22, at Royal Blackburn Hospital,
surrounded by his family, at the age of 73.

Born to Mary and Maurice Riley, Brian lived on Broadway Crescent, Helmshore, before moving to Stacksteads upon marrying his beloved Dolores, who passed away in 1991. He was a devoted father to his daughter Lisa and son Andrew, and their partners Andrew and Jenny, Pappa to Libby, Lois, Dylan, and Amelia, brother to Barbara and also uncle, cousin, brother-in-law and friend to many.

Brian began his working life at the young age of 15 as a vehicle body builder for Rossendale Transport for an impressive 48 years until retirement in 2015.

Aside from his family, Brian’s main passion was sport. He played football for Haslingden and cricket for Haslingden Casuals and was an ardent supporter of Burnley Football Club, following the team home and away and also on pre-season tours. Brian also enjoyed horse racing, socialising, and holidaying in Tenerife with special friends.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4, at 1pm at Haslingden St Mary’s, followed by a burial at Haslingden Cemetery and a reception at Haslingden Cricket Club.

The family wish to give special thanks to the nurses at the Royal Blackburn Hospital for the care they gave Brian and also request flowers be limited to family flowers only, with donations if desired to Pancreatic Cancer UK in Brian’s memory at: https:// togetherin memory.pancreatic cancer.org.uk/ in-memory/Brian-Riley
