I would just like to say how sorry I am to hear of the passing of Dave. We worked for many years at Roneo and had many laughs together. I've been speaking since his diagnosis on messenger and hoped he would beat this terrible disease he was a lovely guy sadly missed. Robert Hodgkinson

Dave - over the years my uncle, entertainer and mate.

‘Davers New Will’ to my mum Ann who you loved to call Mrs Large! ..but always with a beam on your face! 😊

You were the first adult to take me to the pub (old Cow and Snuffers) for a drink … before it was legal 😉 and drop me
home safe afterwards.
And you gave me your singles collection from the 60’ s, still love the Bee Gees from New York Mining Disaster and Words …although the jury’s still out on Nilsson!

Those early drinkies turned into lattes in the coffee shop more recently - or take away when you weren’t up to being out, but you still kept your sense of humour when you could, and bless you, you had the biggest of mountains to climb which you kept on going onwards and upwards.

You taught Ben to drive and how not create chaos on the roads 🙈 and many of my grateful mates kids also now successfully drive, all due to your patience, persistence .. and humour.

Dave you’re a legend -
I’ll keep on smiling at your humour, kindness and reasons for your beliefs usually politically different to mine 😉 .. but hey! Anything goes!

Take a rest from struggling and let Gran, Mam and Dad know I’m sending hugs and just thinking of the tales of Auntie Treaky and her milk jug .. let’s hope she'll enjoy your sense of humour once again 😘!!

Here’s to you 🍻! Ka xxxx

Uncle David, your memory will forever occupy a special place in our hearts. The stories you told during my childhood, often animated by the playful antics of two plastic sprites, Pixie and Dixie, are treasures I will always hold dear. You approached every challenge with remarkable grace and a sense of humour, especially that unforgettable day when you found out Simon had decided to change the time on every clock in your room! Your laughter was truly one of a kind.

One of my most cherished memories is from an Easter Sunday when I was about six years old. You walked into the room with a Polaroid camera, and as a child of the 70s, I was utterly fascinated! You settled me on my dad’s lap, a Crème Egg in hand, and captured the moment. As the photo developed, you encouraged me to shake it and blow on it, and watching that image come to life was nothing short of magical! That photo remains a beloved keepsake for us.

Your kindness has always shone through, and my admiration for you will never fade. You faced your battle with dignity and courage, and I hope you have finally found peace.

Love always
