JeanLEYLANDBeloved mum of Stephen and Sharon, mother-in-law of Anne, dearly loved grandma of Rachel and Daniel, dear sister of David and sister-in-law of Beryl, and much loved by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jean was born in Oswaldtwistle in 1947 the only daughter of James and Joan Baron. She attended St. Mary’s School in Oswaldtwistle and then Holy Family.
After leaving school she worked at Naylors the
Printers and later worked at Marks & Spencer in
Accrington until her retirement. In her younger days she was a talented netball player and won many trophies as part of the works netball team at Naylors.
A lover of animals, she was a keen horse rider and especially loved riding her horse, Lizzie. In later years she enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and socialising at the Duckworth Hall and Stanhill WMC and had many holidays in the Isle of Wight and Isle of Skye with her late partner, Mervyn.
Jean passed away peacefully at Royal Blackburn Hospital on February 26.
She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her, and she leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
A service will be held for Jean at St. Mary’s Church, Oswaldtwistle on Thursday, March 13 at 1.15pm
