I’ve known Betty all my life as she was my Mum’s best friend. She was a solid, down to earth character with a dry sense of humour and stood no nonsense from anyone. She would speak her mind and was very generous to us as children. I remember the many visits we would make to Bow Street after her marriage to Griff, going for Christmas on a couple of occasions. She would put the wrestling on the tv, telling us to keep an eye on Griff. Those who remember Griff and wrestling will know what I mean.
Betty loved life, and enjoyed trips to Scotland to her lodge with my sister Meryl, her goddaughter, who looked after Betty in her later years.
She will be greatly missed. Rest In Peace Betty xx

I always called her 'Aunty Betty.' As a friend to Meryl and Budgie I was always invited over when Aunty Betty was visiting them. She was always so very kind to me and I loved her approach to life. x

Betty was a wonderful lady, strong willed, called a spade a spade and took no nonsense from anyone, she had a great sense of humour and saw the funny side to most things. A big dog lover, Betty loved her Yorkies Charlie, Poppy and Mo, and later on in life Meg, Skippy, Maddie and Ebby, 3 black labs and a Kelpie who were regular visitors. We have fond memories of the holidays and trips out we shared, Betty will always have a place in our hearts. Much love from Meryl, Budgie Ebby and Maddie.

Although we didn’t know her well, we have known how much she meant to Meryl, Budgie, Suzi and Christopher through listening to the many happy memories they shared over the years.
She was much loved , will be very much missed, but those happy memories will endure.
