Tribute to John
It is with a heavy heart that we remember our dear friend, John Flagg, who passed away at the age of 65. John was not only a brilliant trumpet player but also a dedicated band master who led our band with passion, skill and amazing patience!
As the majority of us know, throughout his life John played for several bands, leaving an indelible mark on the music community. His talent on the trumpet was unmatched, and his leadership as a band master inspired us all to strive for excellence.
I will always cherish the memories of our rehearsals and performances together.
John was more than just a musician; he was a friend, a mentor, and a source of inspiration. His legacy will live on in the music he created and the lives he touched. We will miss him dearly, but his spirit will always be with us.
Rest in peace, John. You will never be forgotten by SDTC.

Lovely picture of Flaggy - a truly lovely man who I was privileged to know, conduct, play alongside and spend many hours chatting brass bands, music and about the joys, woes, bemusements, frustrations and celebrations of our beloved Yeovil Town FC. You'll be much missed Flaggy but you leave a touch of all that is good on so many of our hearts.
