My hero!
To everyone else you're Eddie, a squaddie, a soldier, a husband, a brother or a dad. But to me you were my grandad. If I'm being honest you were simply everything and more.
Army born and bred. Your stories will forever be imprinted on my brain that I think I could probably recite a few of them from my own memory but I will save that for your eulogy.
From watching you create Potty Poems with your brothers to always siding with me in an argument I've seen just about every side of your humor and your honour.
If it wasn’t for you I would never have had a perfect father figure to look up to. I can’t thank you enough for helping me to become the women and the mother I am today.
I am so grateful and lucky that it was you I had as my grandad and I hope you know just how much you mean to me.
My memories of you will stay with me forever. And in a life full of challenges you will always be my guide.
Its time to rest easy now that your pain has gone and once again watch over and protect us all just as you did in life. We all love you, now and always. Gone, but never forgotten. See you on the other side. The brightest star in any sky.

Dad, I know you love me, no matter what you say. There is no one else like you. You are great. I couldn’t have wished for a better father than you. You have been a pillar of strength support and discipline to me over the years. You realised early on in my life that I was only human and prone to making mistakes it was part and parcel of me growing up. You taught me to appreciate things and to see the value in everything. You taught me the importance of good time keeping so I’d be responsible enough to travel the world by myself. You allowed me to be a child of my own day and age and understood times people and tastes changed over the years. You accepted none of us were a like and respected all of our values and opinions as long as they didn’t harm anyone else. You’re a father I love spending quality time with as you always knew how to have fun and took the time to listen to me as I grew up and spent quality time with us as children. You always lead by example even though your favourite saying was “Do as I say, Not as I do” You were firm but fair at the same time. You always illustrated the importance of affection by professing your love for mum in front of us and never fought in our presence showing us all your values you’d like us to follow. You have always been supportive and loyal supporting my decision to take a different path to most. You have defended me whenever it was needed and above all you are still the one person I turn to when things go wrong. You have always challenged me to be the best version of myself, and helped me grow and face any setbacks thrown my way. You taught me lessons, you were my source of knowledge you mouldered and instructed me in to being honest and keeping my word. You protected me in all I did as a child and taught me the importance of personal sacrifice but above all you have always shown unconditional love even though I may have upset you, let you down or hurt you, your love for me was no less for it love Zoe x
