What an honour to know and work with this amazing man/anaesthetist.
I worked with him when he first arrived in YGC to do Anaesthetics until I retired in 2012.
The memories I will treasure and smile forever.
RIP Stephan

You don't come across someone like Stephan Hugo every day.
I was extremely fortunate that he anaesthetised for most of my Friday general and breast cancer lists. His good-humoured banter belied his general and regional- block skills and contributed to calm reassurance for his patients.
Afterwards, we would often head down to 'The Plough' for a team-bonding single pint...we were all driving home!

During my military surgery years, we sometimes indulged in a slightly tongue-in-cheek assessment of anaesthetists that we would not wish to go to war with, mainly because of their bland personalities. Stephan would have been at the top of the other list!
An out-and-out professional and keen sports person, but also Stephan, you were fun to be with.....

Dear Stefan,
You are a lovely person and still the memories are fresh with the time I worked with you in HM Stanley. Such a wonderful colleague and a friend.
May the good Lord bless you
