The obituary notice of Stephen HATCH

I worked for Stephen when he was the Director of Westminster Mind. A fantastic boss and friend. So sad - he will be missed. Angela Shwalbe

If this is Stephen Hatch who worked for MIND charity. I started working as a cleaner for him and we had a lot in common regarding knowledge of Shaftesbury Dorset where I grew up and he went to school. I met him later in his life just before covid hit when I then was laid off working with him. I couldn’t sleep tonight and felt to type in his name and this came up to which I am very sad. The most precious thing was that we shared thoughts on Christianity and mission work. He had grandparents and family that were missionaries and he loved to talk with me about faith and gave me a book regarding the documentation of Mary Slessor a missionary and respected woman who gave her life up to teach and bring hope and practical aid to tribes; a book which had been given to his Mother. We got on well and when covid hit I lost touch but thinking of him I wished him well and that he would find peace and hope in God.
Thank you Lord for Stephen serving so well in his research and his kind soul.

We were sorry to see the notice of Stephen's death and also sorry that previous efforts to trace him had failed. He played an important role in our lives many years ago. Marie was a colleague in the Unit for Research in Higher Education at the new University of Essex in the mid 60s and Bob later shared a flat with him in Highbury, London. About 10 years later, he introduced Marie to his friend, Peter Jewell, who was looking for someone to carry out a survey for the Parkinson's Disease Society and so helped to influence the rest of her life. Thank you for the friendship and happy memories.
