Taught me at St Alban's between 1969-71 and was the best teacher I ever had. Always encouraging and instilled a love of reading. I remember being enthralled by his reading "Stig Of The Dump" to us, bringing it to life. He also ran the school football team, leading us to win the cup one year and the league the next. Will be greatly missed.

A truly special man who made such a difference to the lives of so many children who he taught. I will never forget the way he brought a story to life. We held on to his every word. He was firm but fair. He encouraged me to believe in myself and inspired me to follow in his footsteps and become a teacher myself. I had my happiest time at school in class 6 with Mr Fox. I remember him showing us the date one day. The 7.7.77 and telling us how special that day was. But every day was special in Mr.Fox’s class. I hope that he realised what a wonderful, inspirational teacher he was. Unforgettable.

Very sad to hear of the passing of one of, if not the best Teacher a child could ever have the privilege of being taught by.
He was firm but fair with everybody and I’m sure the hundreds of pupils that he taught will be of the same opinion throughout their school life and indeed afterwards. He never forgot anyone he taught, even if it had been decades since they last graced his classroom and he always had time for a chat.
Sincere condolences to Mike & all the family.
Good night and God bless.
Rest in Peace Mr. Fox
