JohnDONAGHERPeacefully at home on the 24th May. Beloved Husband of Anne, much loved Father to Kevin and Paul and Papa to all his Grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be held at St Quivox Church, Prestwick on Monday 1st July 2024 at 10am thereafter to Masonhill Crematorium, Ayr for 11.15am to which all friends and family are respectfully invited.

One of the kindest, most genuine men with whom I ever had the honour to work. He got through a full and successful teaching career - much of it as an assistant head - without becoming cynical or jaded. He cared about his pupils and his staff. As was said at his retirement dinner: if he got back half of the never-returned dinner money he “loaned” to children who had forgotten theirs - or simply didn’t have it - he would have been a wealthy man indeed. RIP.
