KennethBALLMechanical Engineer, died aged 91 of heart complications after a short stay in Southport Hospital on Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Ken spent most of his life living in Hightown, Merseyside. He started his working career age 15 at Cammell Lairds shipyard and then completed a Mechanical Engineering degree at the University of Liverpool where he met our mother. He worked on early jet engine design at Rolls Royce in Derby prior to becoming a lecturer in the department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Liverpool in the 60's. He ran his own company, Intertek, based in the Herculaneum Dock, Liverpool, during the 70's and 80's and then retired from GEC in 1997 after helping design airport baggage handling systems including those in Heathrow Terminal 5.
The funeral will be at Thornton Crematorium, Liverpool, Friday 15 March, at 11.15. Anyone who knew him welcome. All enquiries to
