Geoffrey lost his father when he was 13, but his mother made great sacrifices to ensure that he had the best possible education. Geoff took full advantage of the opportunities available to him, and succeeded in obtaining a craft apprenticeship in the printing trade. He was very proud of his skilled job as a compositor with the South Wales Evening Post, playing a key part in bringing the news to the people of Swansea.
Geoff was kind, compassionate and generous by nature, and cared lovingly for his mother throughout her long life. On a personal note, I recall his and Barbara's regular visits to my own mother in her final years.
Geoff's final years were clouded by ill health, and like the other contributors I cannot praise too highly Barbara's devoted care for him.
Geoff, yours was a life well spent. We all remember you with love and affection.

I didn't know Geoff personally but I have known Barbara for over forty years. A wonderful, kind and loyal friend who thought the world of Geoff and spoke of him often. During his last illness Barbara would let nothing stop her from visiting Geoff daily, be it extreme weather conditions or car problems. I admire her greatly for his selflessness and am sure she was able to bring a great deal of comfort to Geoff who, I know, she will miss deeply. God Bless. xx (Sue Davies)

We used to love visiting Geoff and his wonderful Mum, Dolly Davies (Nee Jarrett)
From their house there was a wonderful panorama of the Tawe valley, Kilvey Hill and as far as Swansea Docks and the sea. When we visited, my brother David and I would dash to the window to look out and see the spectacular view.
Geoff's Dad, Uncle Tudor, died very young so I don't have so many memories of him.
Geoff's Mum, Aunty Dolly, was a lovely, warm, Christian lady. She was saved at Swansea Gospel Mission, known widely as Snellings. She introduced my Dad, Ivor Jarrett, (taxi Driver at High St station) to Snellings and he became a Christian as a result.
Geoff too became a Christian and became a Sunday School Superintendent and a preacher.
Barbara has been a major part of Geoff's life for so many years and notably very faithful to him in his last illness, always going the extra mile. She is missing him so much.
