I first met Phil and his MATE Lou Evans at Gregory's night club where I worked as a doorman many years ago Phil was a man of few words but had a real sense of right and wrong and disliked bullies. I used to take Phil and Lou home after work via the kebab shop, top of west street. Phil had a grip like a vice. He was a top bloke and I am very sorry to hear of his passing way too soon.
