Colonel David Llewellin Davies MBE TD FRAgS Dl (Dai Davies)DAVIESDai passed away peacefully on Wednesday 31 January 2024, aged 85 years. His family were at his side.

Dai was born in St. Dogmaels in 1938. He joined National Provincial Bank Ltd on 02 August 1955 in Newcastle Emlyn before completing his National Service with the Royal Artillery between 1957-59. Following National Service, Dai later joined 302 (Pembroke Yeomanry) Field Regiment, RA, TA later becoming 224 squadron RCT (V); combining his career in the Bank with his life-long commitment to service. As High Sheriff of Dyfed in 2007/8, Dai established the High Sheriff of Dyfed Charitable Trust. He was awarded an MBE in 2011 for his services to Agriculture, setting up the Future Farmers of Wales in 1988 and leading the organisation as President for over 20-years.

Devoted husband of Linda, dearly loved father of Richard and Siân, cherished father-in-law of Amelia and Alex and adored Gramps of Will, Ollie, Evie and Elsie. Dai will be greatly missed and remembered by all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of Dai's life will be held on Saturday, 24 February 2024 at 2pm at St David's Church, Prendergast, Haverfordwest followed by refreshments at The Pavillion, Pembrokeshire County Showground, Haverfordwest.
